"When buying a new appliance, make sure you read the owners manual before you call for service. Many service calls are a result of not reading instructions.

For example, a garbage disposal that you install yourself has a hidden plug that the instructions tell you to remove if you have a dishwasher. If you do not remove this plug, your dishwasher will not work. It seems unrelated because they are two different appliances, but the first affects the second."
